Sinopsis Knowing Movie
Tanpa sengaja, sebuah penggalian menemukan barang-barang dari masa lalu yang memang sengaja dikubur untuk ditemukan orang-orang di masa yang akan datang. Salah satu dari hasil temuan itu adalah deretan angka yang dibuat oleh seorang anak lima puluh tahun yang silam. Semula deretan angka itu terlihat seperti deretan angka acak namun ternyata di balik deretan angka itu tersimpan sebuah misteri.
Caleb Koestler (Chandler Canterbury), putra John Koestler (Nicolas Cage) membawa temuan itu dan menunjukkan pada ayahnya yang memang adalah seorang ahli astrofisika. Setelah meneliti deretan angka tersebut, John menyadari ada sebuah pesan yang ingin disampaikan oleh si penulis dan ternyata di dalam deretan angka itu juga tersimpan sebuah fakta yang menakutkan.
Dalam deretan angka itu tersimpan beberapa catatan kejadian selama lima puluh tahun terakhir. Artinya, saat deretan angka itu ditulis, sang penulis tahu apa yang akan terjadi di masa yang akan datang. Meski semula tak percaya, namun John akhirnya mau tak mau merasa khawatir bahwa ramalan yang tertulis dalam deretan angka itu memang akan benar-benar terjadi. Dan yang paling menakutkan adalah ramalan yang menyebutkan bahwa tak lama lagi ras manusia akan punah.
Kini John punya dua pilihan: membiarkan itu semua terjadi secara wajar atau berusaha untuk menentang takdir dan menyelamatkan seluruh umat manusia dari kepunahan seperti yang digambarkan dalam ramalan dari masa lalu itu. Masalahnya, adakah orang yang percaya pada kata-kata John atau John harus menjalankan misi mulia ini seorang diri.
Ide akhir dunia memang tergolong ide klasik. Bila Anda sempat melihat ARMAGEDDON yang dibintangi Bruce Willis di tahun 1998 lalu, kurang lebih ide itu juga yang coba diangkat lewat film ini. Bedanya mungkin adalah adanya pembauran antara pendekatan ilmu pengetahuan dan pendekatan agama yang disatukan dalam film berdurasi 121 menit ini. Mungkin Alex Proyas, sang sutradara, mencoba merangkul kaum agamis untuk bisa menikmati film ini dari sisi pandang mereka juga.
Sebenarnya ide Alex ini tak salah. Sayangnya dalam penuangannya jadi terasa sedikit mengganjal. Alex mencoba play safe dengan tidak berusaha menyebut agama secara terang-terangan tapi tetap saja penonton akan terbawa ke konotasi yang satu ini karena Alex memasukkan beberapa clue yang mengarah ke sana.
Ni film keren banget, and gw bnr2 ga nyesel nonton ni film.. Efek nya keren.. Ceritanya keseluruhan kuga bagus, walaupun akhirnya ada yg kurang enak gitu.. hehehe..
